Join us for an afternoon you won't soon forget. After retiring in Sept. Waleed Mohamed has returned to the Providence music scene with passion and excitement.
Waleed Mohamed creates music with many influences: Latin (Sunshine kind of Love & So Nice to be with You), Reggae, (Spirit of Love, Journey of Love), Jazz (A Jazzy Feeling & Moving Right Along), Blues (I Thought I had the Blues) and Philly Soul (When you fall in Love.) He also writes the kind of swinging New York Theatre/R&B Songs that Laura Nyro could have written (It's just amazing what Love can do & We Can't Stop Now). For good measure, there's a Van Morrison flavor there as well (Trouble get away from my door).
His lyrics are often romantic but also demonstrate a social consciousness in the spirit of Marvin Gaye (Something's wrong with this picture) and a clever sense of humor in the way the words suggest even more than what they say.
That being said, his voice, guitar playing and improvisational skill reveal a unique artist beyond compare!
